This is coming from my heart and i apologize if this article makes you feel uncomfortable. It’s ok if you just stop right here and go watch your football match. The truth they say is always bitter but sorry i am about to say it just how i feel.

Now with those statistics above, you see that the fate of the whole world doesn’t depend on a crappy blog post? In fact the earth will still rotate round its axis if you STOP BLOGGING. In the good old days when blogging was very young and tender, when no one defiled or abused her innocence, she was ONLY a means of self-expression online. It wasn’t for every Tom, Dick and Harry. It was for those who really hard something to say.

It’s so sad that some Nigerian blogs is littered with poor content that it drives me crazy at times. Any guy with a laptop with an internet connection can just register a free blog with WordPress or blogspot and start posting rubbish. You think that covering all the news and celebrity goosips in Africa will make you a blog Diva like Linda Ikeji? I doubt.

It is high time we stopped delivering junks  to the public and start giving immense value.

If you don’t have what to post…..please do not post.

Biko! Mbok!

Nobody want’s to know the name of your dog. Period!

If your blog is not giving value to your readers then you’re are just another blogger next door. Do not start a blog with the sole aim of making money.

I’m not saying that it is wrong to start marking making money from your blog.

→ You should start with giving value first

→ Start with solving a problem.

→ Start with answering a question.

→ Start with helping a client.

→ Start with connecting with like-minded people in your industry.

…..then you will see like a dream the money pouring at your feet and begging to be used.

It amazes me that bloggers litter their blogs with so many ads and you keep wondering if it’s a blog or an advertising company.

I do understand that everybody wanna make money online, me too……but let me tell you that, nobody will give you a dime for not adding a value to their lives. It is a win-win game.

“I scrub your bag, you scrub mine”(Nigerian proverb).

DO NOT give your readers the slightest clue that you want to sell to them. If you do, they will run as far as their mouse can carry…..Lol….

Seriously…..

Do not blog entirely for Mr Google…yeah right, i know how important he is to us all but remember….visitors first…search engine second.

Nobody want’s to see something like ” do you know you can make money online with my system, my system will make you money online, 753,000  people have made money online with my system” how does that sound? Like a radio with flat battery…Lol

Please my dear friend…

⇒ Say NO to poor content

⇒  Say NO to Plagiarism

⇒ Say NO to copy and paste….haba….na only you waka come?

Say NO to Mediocrity

Visitors need information, inform them

They need education, educate them.

They need answers, give it to them.

Stop littering your blog with high quality rubbish.

Give nothing less than value.

You can’t start a blog today and expect to be like LindaIkeji, Ogbongeblog, BellaNaija and a host of other hardworking bloggers who have created a niche for themselves in the blogosphere. Give immense value first.

Never start a blog and expect to become a millionaire the next day…..you are a dreamer…Lol

  1. Promise, you have just shared my mind on the attitude of the average Nigerian blogger towards blogging. Most people started blogging in this part of the world not because they have a message that will help their readers, their core objective is money. They have forgotten that it is value first before money. To bloggers who will read this comment, I want to say that if people who read your blog don’t get amazed at the kind of person you are based on the content you share on your blog, then you have to go back to the drawing board. If no one has ever contacted you for advice or tell you they admire your work as a result of reading your content, then your blogging career has not started. Your blog content speaks volume of your personal philosophy and who you are. If you keep publishing poor posts or articles you need not tell your smart readers that you are mediocre. They will know, “for by their blog content, yea shall know them.” I blog @ http://www.taiwoemayosan.com

    1. Oh Taiwo, you blew me away with your comment. I couldn’t agreed more.If a blogger is not changing lives and effecting change in people’s life through his blog then he still a baby who needs milk.
